At three years of age, I found my calling as an artist. My palette now involves paint, wood, glass and steel instead of crayons. My art is always evolving; playing around with different sizes and mediums is a challenge that I embrace. Along with a degree in painting and design from Carnegie Mellon University, I have a teaching background as well as an extensive exhibition record. My work has been in over 30 solo exhibitions and over 95 group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the country. I have received several grants and fellowships and have completed many large-scale commissions, such as a 17' steel sculpture for a major hospital.
My work is included in the permanent collections of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, New York State Museum Albany, the Castellani Museum, the Burchfield-Penney Museum, Washington State Art in Public Places Collection, State of Florida Art in Public Buildings Collection, Absolut Vodka, and IBM, among many others. My fascination with nature and the idea of art as a way to reconstruct the world around us is reflected in my work. I am interested in interweaving shapes and colors with imaginary organic forms, combining spatial relationships and exploring the microscopic.
